Pack light - don't over do it. For a standard 7-day trip, two boards max, rash guard, 2 or 3 board shorts, some regular shorts, long pants, sweat pants, 5 or so T-shirts, a long sleeve shirt or hoodie, 1 or 2 beach towels, and bug spray if you use it. Neoprene rashie in Jan and Feb is fine if you're easily cold and stay out a long time but probably not necessary. H2O temp is around 80 degrees all season. Booties are totally at your discretion; there's a lot of rock reef breaks but 99% of people don't wear them. When you land and customs gives you a white card - don't toss it! You need it to get out of the country. If you don't have a passport, U.S. /Canadian citizens can travel to Mexico with their driver's licenses and a notarized copy of their birth certificates. But it's a good idea to get a passport, especially if your license is torn, really old, or the mag stripe doesn't work. IMPORTANT: If you usually don't travel abroad, phone your financial institutions before leaving for your trip. Let them know which ATM/credit cards you plan to use and your length of stay in Mexico. Otherwise, you may find your ATM and credit cards blocked when you try to use them. This will be a remarkable vacation with photos and videotaping option available. Check with your guide at the beginning of the trip. |
